Gamification for student engagement: a framework

Gamification, the application of game elements to non-game situations, has gained traction in education as a mechanism for improving motivation and/or learning outcomes. Although it is widely accepted that gamification enhances these aspects engagement business and settings, there equivocal supporting evidence. Research emphasised behavioural responses gamification, although some evidence can support deeper cognitive affective aspects. It continues remain unclear how influences student leads learning, significant gap literature date. In this conceptual article, we fill between practice theory through synthesis into new Gamification Student Engagement Framework. The provisional Framework should, first time, enable practitioners systematically design gamified experiences, purposeful selection attributes according desired experience, consequence of, engagement. focus on outcomes, potential improve others such satisfaction wellbeing across many settings disciplines. also be used gather much needed empirical about effectiveness approach
